A Lifetime
Product Description:
The inspiration is based on Ghanaian coffins. With the discovery that in Ghana they have a special transition of making coffins and beds in good handmade quality. That’s where both ideas of making one product with two functions, both saving materials and cost.
For a few years, this idea was to design a bed that did not look like a coffin and vice versa. With no extra items that had to be kept away in the basement when used in both situations. At the end of 2020, the idea was again rediscovered and came back to be designed for the death of Dögg mother. That was later cremated and was left with the function of a bed for Dögg’s father to use to the end of his “Lifetime”, thus became the name.
Manufacturers consume materials and cut down trees in an unsustainable way. Thus, reusing materials for A Lifetime that will eventually be decomposed or reused in the next generations. Allowing to reduce the consumption of materials, reduce manufacturing and cut costs.
