Stranda
Product Description:
Stranda was inspired by natural materials found in Iceland, with the combination of the rosette ceiling and sculptural molding process at the Thorvaldsen Museum.
The piece was designed for the exhibition “Sculptural furniture” at Thorvaldsen Museum in 2012. The theme was to create a sculptural furniture piece that is an experiment with nature and form: “Going out into a rough landscape and creating a piece of furniture from things one finds along the way, where no trees grow”. Along the north-western strander, Icelandic word for coasts, driftwood can be found, coming as far as Siberia and traveling many years.
